cosplay update
As of right now I have deiced that I will only be working on two costumes because they will be very time consuming. They both have lots of fine details that I want to get as close to the character as possible. The two that I am working on are Queen Tara from Epic and Queen Elsa from Frozen. Seems like I am on a women of Power kick. Lol. It is just that I have fallen in love with these characters and want to really push my self in sewing. Now for the updates I have a wedding dress base that I am using for Queen Tara. I have cut it to fit me because the dress was way to small. I will now be possibly cutting more of it to grant me an easier way to get in and out of it. I am still working on how I want it to look. I have a design in mind for the petals of the bottom of her dress. I have a skirt pattern that I will be making a few layers to and cutting them as the petals. I will not be attaching it so far because I want to be able to use it again if I want it to be a part of another costume. As for Queen Elsa I am still trying to find out what type of fabric I want to use. My pattern calls for one kind but I have been known not to use what they pattern calls for and it still works out fine in the end. I working on her wig. Her wig is my first time putting wefts in a wig. So far I have one completed and another in place I just need to sew it. I am trying to balance cosplaying with school and work. Also I am wanting to get this blog it share of the lime light too. I am going to hand sew the sequins on the corset of her top. It will be a big step for me and I am ready for the challenge. For both of them I will be working on dying fabric. I have only dyed stretch knit before. I am excited to really step up my game. I hope to one day be able to do commissions for people. I need to get my sewing machine fixed. I also have a brand new one that I will be busting out to work on Elsa. I need to get my other machine fixed so that I can work on a cape that I have been working on to get completed before I go to the mid-evil fair this year. I have lots of work to do and I am up to the challenge. On another note I still need to fix my other mermaid tail after I have taken it a part. I have come up with some good ideas now I just need to do it.
