Cosplay W.I.P

Its time for a cosplay update! Yay!!!! Lol I have been very busy with school and life. I have felt the need to really get back into cosplaying... well the sewing part. I have not stopped at all instead I have been doing ones to which I could buy everything. I also have been slowly getting things ready to start sewing again. I have made a commitment to myself to get back in the game. So far I have one major sewing project that I need to get done soon! I have at least 10 cosplays that I am working on. They are all in different stages of being created. For three of them I need to make corsets for. I am looking for back up plans just in case I can`t get the corsets done or I don`t like the way they look. So as of right now the ones that I am trying to get done before July are Michonne from The walking Dead, Uni Kitty from Lego movie and a secret cosplay!!! I am also working on two versions of Storm from X-men but they are up in the air right now. The rest of my cosplays are Black widow, Elsa, Queen Tara and Toothfairy. Oh I almost forgot I am hoping to have Snow White from Once Upon a Time done before July also. While her`s I am not going to be making anything just buying. I would one day like to make her outfit but not at the moment. I am hoping a seller on Etsy will reply back to me to see of she could make it for me!!! UGhhhhhhhh who knows tho. I am hopeful! Anyways I almost have all my patterns cut out! The only one I have left to cut out is the pattern I am using for Uni Kitty!!! Let me tell you right now my sewing area is a mess at the moment! I need to test out my new... simi new sewing machine!!! I have had it for a year but I have not used it! The I just remembered I have another costume I need to start on.... oh boy! I have to much stuff to do!!!Oh well!

The right fabric vs. the cost!

How many of you are as guilty as I am of not always buying the fabric that is recommended on the pattern?? I'm so bad at it due to the price or just trying to find the fabric. Or even just the way the fabric would fall as it drapes over my body! I have been trying really hard to be better at this! I'm starting to do more research on the fabric and cost to see what is the difference between what is recommended and what I plan on buying!! This is so true for my galadriel cosplay that I have no idea now when is going to happen!! But the pattern called for crepe and a few other types of fabric!! Well the cost of the fabric is way over the max I can spend each yard. To which the going rate for me is 5 dollars a yard or less! Some would say that is very cheap and I should use better fabric but girl's got to set a budget and stick to it!! Cosplaying the Good ,The Bad and what an expenisive hobby

Hello readers,  I am trying something new in the format of my post . Let me know what you guys think. Now on to the topic at hand. Cosplay is the newest mainstream thing. Many of us have been apart of this community for years. Within recent years the "outside" world ( I'm using this word loosely ) have become more aware of what this community is. I,myself have been cosplaying for almost 20 years. It's a hobby and a way to challenge myself to get better at creating all components of an outfit. So in a way it's one of my many passions. For some it is their job to which is pretty amazing. But this is not why I'm making this post. There has been some underline issues that have explode and are tearing the community apart.
